Trekkin in Skandagiri
Umesh told it is approximately 80kms from Bangalore, near Nandi Hills and Chikbalapur. It was his plan to go by bikes and asked everybody to leave at 5am and meet at the bakery near Shijith’s house.
Sunil and I had to leave office early as we were in nightshift. We were very prompt and left @ 5 from the office. One hour early logout did not make much difference. But Derek filled in for us by taking our burden and started doin wat he is good at.
We were riding Sachin’s bike, TVS victor. Umesh called Sunil and I had to take the cell frm his pocket and speak to Umesh. I was very hesitant to do that coz I had to take my hand off my fake Nike jacket’s pocket to press the “ACCEPT” button on a W780i. It was dead cold.

Umesh: Ello idhiya (Where are you?)
Me: Maga, 5 mins. bartha idheevi (We ll be there in 5 mins)

We reached and met all who came fresh frm home. Bijay and Pawan were supposed to join us @ Yelahanka.
We left.. Dev had a Santro. Vimal, Globe and Shijit got into in it.
We stopped at two places to have chai, biscuits and we all had a photo session near India’s biggest engineer’s statue.
By the time we reached Skandagiri the Sun started touching us a lot. Pawan was more touched, coz he is a Kashmiri. He looked like a rotten apple to all. To me he looked like a tourist from Ireland.
We had to follow Umesh’s instructions as he had come here b4 tis. Our guide was Siddha a small boy who sold butter milk. With his help, we explored the finest path with less throwns and more fun. Everybody had bcome photographers by now.
And few more…
It took 3 hrs to reach the spot were we wanted to. We all had idly and vada which we got from a hotel in Chickballapur. I regretted havin only one stomach, it tasted delicious. May be b’coz we were hungry to d core.
We reached earth very soon as we dint ve enuf energy to resist ourselves anywhere. Siddu had come till the parking lot nd gave a send off. He also introduced us to few of his friends/colleagues and askd us to visit again.
“Bye Siddhu” is wat I heard from someone in a Mallu accent, it may be Shijith I thot and sat on Praveen’s Discover tis time wering Sunil’s goggles. He had a helmet and I did nt want Sun kissing my almost burnt nd itching retina..
